Potable coatings such as swimming pool coatings are applied to protect the concrete from various destructive hazards such as water, freeze thaw damage and chemicals.
Most swimming pools are typically filled with water containing sanitizing chemicals such as saline (salt water), chlorine or bromine. The swimming pool coating provides resistance and protection from these chemicals.
The swimming pool coating also provides a barrier from water vapour penetrating the concrete substrate. In colder climates freeze thaw damage (spalling) can occur when excessive moisture in the concrete turns into ice.
Swimming pool coatings normally have a service life of five to eight years before requiring overcoating. Proper swimming pool maintenance and water chemistry is an important factor in extending the longevity of the coatings service life.
For over twenty five years C.I.P. (Commercial & Industrial Painters) have been restoring and applying protective coatings to Commercial, Public and Residential swimming pools.
C.I.P. (Commercial and Industrial Painters) coating technicians will assess the conditions of the swimming pool and provide a free quotation on the recommended preparation and coating system.
QC (Quality Control) and QA (Quality Assurance) will be performed during the project as per specification and coating manufacturer’s recommendations.
